ELEMENTARY BALLET
Classes learn classic ballet basics starting with the body positions. Emphasis on placement, proper alignment and posture. Most of the barre work is done with two hands on the barre.
Level 1
Students advance from the primary levels to being introduced to the basics of ballet technique with development of the body positions of the arms and legs. The exercises in this class emphasize placement, proper alignment, and posture. Students work on developing their muscles to be able to execute the proper technical steps. Most of the barre work is done facing the barre with two hands and the exercises in center work on balance, flexibility, and coordination. Students will develop their ballet vocabulary.
Wednesdays: 4:30-5:30pm
Fridays: 4:30-5:30pm
Level 2
Students continue to develop and perfect basic technical exercises in the classical vocabulary. The exercises in the class begin to develop stamina and enhance the strength of the students. Classes begin in coordination with Level 1 but include longer barre exercises. Students experience exercises that work on alignment, flexibility, and proprioception while integrating more jumps and diagonal based movements. Students will continue to develop their ballet vocabulary in this level.

Level 3
Students begin to add more to their ballet vocabulary while continuing to develop their material learned from Levels 1 and 2. The exercises in this class are longer and more complex. The exercises begin to work on the transfer of weight and the enhancement of strength in order to execute steps both at barre and center like développé and pirouettes. Students will also advance in their understanding of petit and grand allegro movements while finding the ballon in jumps.
