Kayleigh Western
Kayleigh Western is from Lexington, Kentucky and has been dancing for 22 years. Her training began at the Lexington Ballet in 2002 and continued both there and at the School for the Creative and Performing Arts until 2015. In 2015, she became one of the inaugural students of Cary Ballet Conservatory’s Professional Training Program under the guidance of Mariaelena Ruiz and Heather Iler. During her time at Cary Ballet Conservatory, she competed and received recognition in many competitions, such as Youth America Grand Prix, World Ballet Competition, and American Dance Competition. During her summers as a student, she had the privilege of working with renowned dancers while attending summer courses at Pacific Northwest Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Next Generation Ballet, and Ballet Chicago. Kayleigh has since danced professionally with the Louisville Ballet and the Lexington Ballet. Over the course of her career, she has performed works by many esteemed choreographers, to include George Balanchine, Ronald Hynd, Val Caniparoli, Juliano Nuñes, and FLOCK. Her most notable roles as a member of the Lexington Ballet Company include the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Dew Drop Fairy in the Nutcracker, the Firebird, the Dying Swan, and Juliet from excerpts of Romeo and Juliet. She is thrilled to return to the Lexington Ballet for another season as both a company member and dance educator.
